"I am originally from the Eastern Cape which is where my interest in telling authentic South African stories that connect with the communities in them. My plans for the future is to create stories that resonate with a local and international audience."

"Memories have always played an important role in my life and the fact that you’re able to hold onto to a memory purely through a photograph is what drew me to photography and videography.
Growing up in Cape Town and being surrounded by mountains and the oceans has allowed me to not only hold onto my memories and pictures but help create more with those around me."
Ashley Jacobs
Editor/Composer
The birthplace of Ashley's passion for film began with her love for storytelling through editing and music. Her approach to these mediums are to prioritize the emotional arc of the character - tending to whatever serves the story. Perfectionist by nature, her devotion to paying attention to every minute detail demonstrates her dedication to upholding storystewardship. Along with this, her musical background aids her in shaping an edit that flows in accordance with the story's rhythmic beat.
Tino Hluyo

Tino is a producing student, reader and cinephile with a passion for films no matter their background. His main goal is to help create a landscape in film that truly shows all sides of the world and their hidden, infinite beauty.
Kate Wanjohi & Amile Nkota
Playing Deliwe and Dumisani respectively, Kate Wanjohi and Amile Nkota are the powerhouse of Retreat's core. Bringing to life a turbulent, far-from-healed pair of siblings in the midst of navigating grief and control, our lead actors bring depth and heart to their roles.
